Ready to take your wheel skills to the next level?
This class is designed for students who have already completed at least one of our Beginner Wheel Throwing Classes and are ready to learn what happens
after a piece comes off the wheel. You’ll work with pottery already thrown and learn the finishing techniques that transform a thrown form into a polished, completed piece.
During this class, you’ll learn how to:
- Wedge clay and prepare it for use
- Trim your pottery to remove excess clay, refine the shape, and create a finished foot
- Add attachments, such as handles, knobs, and decorative embellishments
Before You Come
You must have completed at least one Beginner Wheel Throwing Class and have 2 pieces set aside. If you don't have pieces from a previous class—or you'd simply like an additional piece to practice trimming and decorating—you may purchase pre-thrown pieces below.
Please note: This is a finishing and technique class. You will not be throwing new pottery on the wheel during this session.
What's Included:
- 1 lb. of clay for handles, attachments, and decorative details
- Hands-on instruction in a small-group setting
- Maximum of 5 students per class
- Bisque firing and stoneware glazing of your completed pieces
